Does anyone recommend anything that will help me sleep? It’s been about 2 months since I’ve slept through a night. I’ve tried all the natural sleep aids, melatonin, prescription sleeping pills and nothing seems to help me stay asleep. I bought a new mattress, changed my room around, bought a relaxation fountain and tried those sleepy-time teas. I have no trouble falling asleep but I wake up within 2 or 3 hours and I don’t fall back to sleep. Anyone have a tip on how to stay asleep?

First of all, try this..if you haven’t already been instructed to do so.
1. when you lay down, if you cant fall asleep within 15 minutes get up and do something exhausting (mentally…not physically.)
repeat this x3 before trying to take a sleep aid.
Also, you may look up something called Sleep Restriction Therapy. It’s got something to do with your circadian rhythm being out of whack and it tells you how to get it back into whack.
If you have the resources to do so, you may also see a Psychologist for Biofeedback and Relaxation techniques.
(PS if you snore, check and make sure you don’t have sleep apnea.)
I suffer from insomnia also and what i do is drink a glass of warm milk minutes before you go too bed, marijuana use also helps but isn’t too good if you goto bed before you come down you could wake up high like i used to
I’ve been an insomniac my whole life and I’ve finally figured something out. Here are my tips. They’ve worked for me, hopefully it works for you.
1.If you don’t already exercise, then start! But don’t do it right before bed. Do it in the morning or early afternoon. You need at least 30 minutes a day. It will help, trust me.
2.Try a higher dose of Melatonin. But be sure to take it 6 hours before bed! If you take it later it won’t take effect in time to help you and it will start working about the same time you have to wake up. Not good.
3.Don’t drink any fluids within 2 hours of going to bed. That way you probably won’t have to wake up to go to the bathroom. On the same note, be sure to go to the bathroom right before you go to bed.
4.Put your work away 1-2 hours before you go to bed. You need time to unwind and relax! Then stop worrying about it completely for the night.
5.Have the same bedtime and wake time every day, even on the weekend!
6.Have a good bedtime routine. A warm bath or shower, brushing your teeth, washing your face, getting into comfy PJ’s, a massage, meditation, writing, reading scriptures (but not anything too interesting), etc. Anything that helps you relax and get tired. You should have the same routine every day.
7.Stay away from the computer and T.V. for at least an hour or two before bed! The lights will mess your body up!
8.Go to bed earlier! We were meant to go to bed early and wake early. Be sure to get to sleep BEFORE 11 p.m. or you won’t sleep as well.
9.Keep your bedroom cool and as dark as possible. Turn your clock from your view. You don’t need to know what time it is. It will only keep you up when you wake up.
10.Avoid bedtime snacks. They will wake you up later when your blood sugar drops back down!
11.Wear socks to bed! It will help you stay asleep.
12.If your mind is racing and wandering keep a notepad near your bed. Write down your thoughts and ideas then forget them and clear your mind! Meditation is very useful.
13.Eat a high protein snack with a small piece of fruit about 4hours before bed.
14.Avoid caffeine and alcohol.
15.Keep your bed only for sleeping (and sex if you’re doing that). Don’t watch T.V. or do work in bed!
Most importantly, stop stressing over not being able to stay asleep!
